League of Women Voters Legislative Forum at Mercy Medical Center

The League of Women Voters and its co-sponsors will host the third legislative forum of the year for Linn County area legislators from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center, 701 10th Street SE, in Cedar Rapids.

Sierra Club Annual Dinner at Clark Alumni House at Coe College

The Cedar Wapsi Group of the Sierra Club will have its annual dinner at Clark Alumni House at Coe College on Saturday, March 20, 2010, with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.  The keynote speaker for the event will be Kamyar Enshayan, director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Education at the University of Northern Iowa and a member of the Cedar Falls City Council.  His speech is entitled, "A New Vision for the Cedar River Watershed."  Tickets are $30.  To RSVP, or to buy a ticket, please contact Mike Wyrick, group chair, at 362-6662 or by email at mike.wyrick@gmail.com.
